Firstly, thank you Kronik. I may not be going the better route you recommended, but you helped me figure out other things. I did contact Memory-Express, but I haven't heard back from them yet. The dual xeon design will have to be my next-next PC, which if all goes well I might be able to get in just 2 years, and be able to afford the monster Xeons I'd like. For now, while I'm on four Tylenol a day for a cracked tooth (actually missing 60-70% of a molar) I've come to the final build of my next PC. Considering the choices here, I'm trying to wrap my understanding around the flexbay system for the Caselabs case. I'm hoping you fellers could give it yer critical eye.

For the build "Nez.1-July26"

Why the Intel drives and not say the Samsung drives?

One of the things I did keep from Kronik's advice is Intel Intel Intel. I haven't compared the 750's to a Samsung drive to know exactly what you're comparing. I may drop the two 400GB Intel 750's for a single 1.2TB Intel 750 to free up room for when I add a 3rd 980ti, or I could have one PCIE 750 400GB, and the other ... the other ... gah! Can't remember ... (googling) ... damnit, .. the SATA 2.5 form factor, the other form factor ... is ... is this dementia, or the long term effects of Tylenol? Dental appointment Wednesday 8AM.

It would be (deep sigh) a dream to play triple 4K display + record game-play in 4K off a single display + record self in 4K. I know I wont be able to achieve that. Combinations of 1440p though is far more likely. I've set my sights to be more realistic. Play triple display in 1440p, and play single display in 1440p and record game-play in 1440p and self in 1440p. On day one I won't have enough monitors to see what a single 980ti could do for that, but I will be able to see what I can do for single display combinations. The reality is that I'll be able to produce content in decent quality to begin with, and that's perfect for my set-up period. Leaving me just enough time.

There's still time ...

Hey, Ivan. Not sure what you're going for with your announced threadjack and massive photobomb, but I'm not interested in whatever juvenile game you're playing this time. As you're today, and historically not concerned with respecting other people, I'm sure you wouldn't be offended when I suggest that you simply ████ off.

edit: Thank you for removing your pic.

Hey sorry buddy, I wasent planning on it being that huge. And, as you can see I was in the midst of correcting it. No harm intended.

As for your language, Im going to chalk that one up to your meds.

My language was appropriate considering your invitation. Fully excluding the size of the image, your "threadjack" announcement identified your intentions and automatic disregard. I've learned a few things teaching kindergarten for several years, that some will continue to waltz out of bounds until someone steps up, at which point they have only two options. Another thing I learned was to call them out at the time, on the spot, and see it through.

My purpose in posting in the computing and technology thread is to acquire input, critic, advice, and support from any who would volunteer it. Threadjacking does a lot to derail a thread and step on any main purpose. Not being concerned with any of that means that you're not concerned with respecting other people. No, I never addressed any student with that language. I know that in this case I'm addressing an adult.

Note: I don't consider us enemies, Ivan.

Yes, I'd hope I'm above being that petty. Something like having the thread title changed to "All about Ivan" would suit that theme, but I had hoped to convey that our relation hasn't changed from this. You wanted the attention, and I gave it to you. It's concluded.

Since I'll end up with 3-way SLI down the road, I'll be out of PCIE slots. Looking at switching to a WS board (which coincides with Kronik's advice -- See, I do listen, Kronic! Very Happy .. mostly!

Let alone solitare !!

Looks like a nice build. Especially having the one vid card. I have never ran 2 even though I could have. Double the trouble in my opinion unless you want better than the best.

But over powering your gpu processing and more heat in the case for no reason has never been my first choice.

I have always ran on on 1 vid card. Currently running a GTX 780 and I have everything on max setting at no problem. You should be fine for years to come.

And all those silly led lights that peps put in there case ba humbug. Make it black, simple but functional case. I look at my monitors not my case Smile.
