Post subject: Holiday Season Game Pick's?
My budget for games was pretty tight this year. I picked up Payday 2 + all DLC and Divinity: Original Sin + DLC. Might get one more.. just not sure what to get, perhaps I'll make a decision based on what the rest of CKA is playing / purchased.

So, what did everyone else spend their hard earned cash on during the Steam (or other) Holiday Sales?

My budget is (was) $200/yr. Which I had exceeded several times over.
I try to stick to a rule of "Within 6 months release, 66% off, and/or under $20, it's a maybe."

I've picked up Gauntlet, BG2EE, NWN2 Complete, LTI Reclaimer (Star Citizen, but with General Z's name on it),Torchlight 2, Dog tags x2 (Star Citizen), Magicite, x2 towels (Star Citizen), LTI Phoenix (Star Citizen), Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall, UEE Environment Coat - Arclight Model 2 sidearm - Origin Racing suit (Star Citizen - Star Citizen - Star Citizen), and Starpoint Gemini 2.

Unless Divinity: Original Sin price drops with 50%+ discount, or Wasteland 2 does the same, I think I'm set for 2015.

Edit: Also picked up a PS3 controller for my PC (mainly for FF7, but oh man, Gauntlet is sooo much better on controller), and an Aeron chair for 15% off during black Friday sale, came to $927. Just arrived day before yesterday!

Oh yea, Gaunlet looks pretty sweet! Nice score Nez.

I see you bought in hard to SC as well, you poor soul.. Wink

Let me know if you end up getting D:OS, my friend and I both purchased it.

Yes, I've been bitten by the Star Citizen bug, and zero regrets. Smile

I'd love to get D:OS, but as I'm well well well WELL passed my 2014 entertainment budget, 2015 is gonna be quite empty, and have plenty to keep me occupied for most of, if not all, of 2015.

If you happen to pick up Gauntlet, lemmie know! 50% off at present, if I'm not mistaken.

I grabbed Elite Dangerous when it came out, so far so good, I like it, fun to play with buddies to take out targets together but I don't recommend it without at least a control pad.

It's playable but, getting into dog fights with a mouse and k/b is beyond my skill level that's for sure!

there is no multiplayer as they make u think in this game for the record. The only way to do combat WITH each other is through the nav beacons or mining areas. The best way to bounty hunt is with an intradiction drive which when u pull a guy out of "warp" frameshift that instance is ONLY for you and YOU only this game is not MMO at all it is a glorified buddy system. Me and shuhac roamed for hours trying out even mining together and it was almost impossible to find the same instance.

It isn't hard to find each other, Ninjabawb Crenom and I fly together frequently.

When someone drops out of supercruise, you have to target their low energy FSD wake and navigate to it like you would a space station or asteroid belt.

When you drop out of supercruise into their wake you'll be there with them. I've done it many times.

The multiplayer is there, they just don't hold your hand through it like in other games. It took Bob and I a few days to figure that out.

Anyway, once we did it changed the way we played the game, literally.

As far as more PVP, if you check the Galnet news feeds either on the ED website or in a space port when you dock, they'll talk about uprisings or war mongering and such. Fly to those systems and partake in the battle.

Just after Christmas about 25 real players converged on a federation "star destroyer" sized ship and tried to take it out.

I don't know what happened as its rear turrets took me out in a jiffy!
